About

What started out as a way to pass the time eventually turned into a career. From jumping out of airplanes, to sitting in holes in the desert, to riding on ships, a camera has always been Dave’s constant. The regret that photography didn’t start sooner developed into trying to document every moment, and it has finally evolved to a point that has slowed down, become more reflective, and substantially more personal. It takes years to find a personal style, and it also takes years to decide on a focus.

Dave holds a B.S. in English from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, as well as an MBA from Pepperdine University with a focus in Social, Ethical, and Environmental Responsibility (a decade before ESG became a household word). He’s served in the military, started businesses, run the marketing and creative direction for organizations large and small, and led sustainability initiatives along the way.

Working with camera companies like Phase One, he has completely shifted to literally focusing on medium format, with an emphasis on wildlife photography. An eye for the different coupled with the most sophisticated resolution has resulted in an ability to create final, physical pieces that are no longer art, but rather experiential pieces that are big enough and detailed enough to make you feel like you have been transported to that place.
